Stephen Ministry

The Stephen Ministry is a confidential, caring ministry led by trained lay members of Tuckston United Methodist Church. Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christian care to members of our congregation and members of our community. Every individual at some point in life needs someone present to listen and care as they experience difficult times. It is common for an individual to experience painful times due to the death of a loved one, a divorce, a stressful time due to work/home life, problems with family, illness of a family member or a job loss.
Stephen Ministers are required to take 50 hours of training to learn how to give the proper care and develop skills to handle such situations. Following this training supervision meetings are held twice a month to ensure accountability. All care receiver's names and situations are totally held in confidence between the care receiver and the Stephen Minister. Confidentiality is the foundation of Stephen Ministry.
If you or someone you know would like to receive the care of a Stephen Minister, please let Doug know by calling the church office at 706-353-1311.

Below are the new Stephen Ministers who will be commissioned at church on Sunday, March 14. We praise God for these people who have stepped forward to care for others and bless this ministry.
