United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women (UMW) is a group of women who encourage, support, and nurture each other in their spiritual growth and development. UMW also supports several mission projects. The UMW in each church is organized for mission. Since the UMW is a connectional church, local units such as Tuckston UMW relate directly to UMW programs conducted at district and conference levels and to the programs of the General Board of Global Missions.
The Tuckston UMW supports local and foreign missions projects each year. Funds for mission support are raised through sales at an annual Fall Bazaar. The Bazaar is a time of special fellowship and fun when members bring handmade crafts and baked good to sell.
Tuckston UMW currently has one daytime circle(the Hardeman-Phillips Circle which meets on the second Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at the church); and one evening circle (the Bertha Hancock Circle which meets on the fist Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the church). The circles promote spiritual growth and maturity through service and Bible study.
Throughout the year there are opportunities to attend district and conference meetings, workshops, seminars, and retreats.
